In the footsteps of Leonardo
One-day excursion.
Departure in the morning to the small village of Vinci, which gave birth to the genius of all time: Leonardo.
Visit to the church that first welcomed the newborn Leonardo, to see the baptismal font where he was baptized in 1452.
It will be very interesting to see some of his carried out inventions by visiting the museum located in the heart of the small village “The Leonardian Museum” Piazza Conti Guidi where we can find mechanical watches, construction machinery and much more.
Another stop inside the “Castello dei Conti Guidi”, where in the museum we will find more of Leonardo’s machines, examples of both scientific and military engineering.
After a coffee break in the square where we can admire, besides the enchanting hilly landscape typical of Tuscany, the sculpture of the artist Mario Ceroli representing Leonardo’s Vitruvian Man, we head for the birthplace of the Genius.
After a brief journey through the olive groves, characteristic of this land, we get to Anchiano to the house-museum that has reopened in 2012 and where we can listen to the biography of the artist and also see him in the form of a hologram while he tells us his story.
We will continue our encounter with this artist by going to the house where his mother, Catherine, was born.
Tasting of three wines produced by the farm, overlooking a wonderful panoramic view of Vinci.
Cooking class with a Tuscan chef to discover the typical products of the territory and lunch in the vineyards of the estate.
Guided walk of the Monna Caterina wine resort among the rows of vineyards and olive trees for a coffee break, with live music in the courtyard of the church that saw Leonardo’s mother as a child.
Back to the hotel in the evening.
